Jay Burlage

Jay’s career path has had some twists which has given him unique perspective. After graduating from the University of Detroit, he spent a decade and a half at traditional architectural firms working on school, library, office, multi-use and residential projects. After the GFC, he explored an entrepreneurial path by founding a successful visual motion control robotics company that had a solid decade run. His original love of architecture led him back into the field initially in adaptive reuse and eventually his passion for cutting edge technology attracted him to SNHA. He blends design for products, manufacturing and architecture, bringing all his acquired skills together in the Product and Program Development team. Jay is a Michigan native who grew up in Traverse City and is now living in Ann Arbor. He is a huge fan the natural world and water related sports, on his off time he can be found kayaking, sailing, wakeboarding, swimming or hiking. He and his wife Caron are connoisseurs of locavore food culture and enjoy spoiling their two cats: Rumi and Pooh.

Jay had a once-in-a-lifetime experience exploring Dubai as a part of a group of personal guests of Prince Fazza
