Hailing from Alexandria, Egypt, Islam moved to Chicago in 2003 and has enjoyed exploring his adopted hometown’s food scene ever since.

As a designer, he is most inspired by expressing an idea and then sharing that form of expression with others in the form of a work or living space. Islam holds both his Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Islam once built a 3D printer on his own.
